The book of the study is the history of Moscow and provincial estates. This study is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Society for the Study of the Russian Estate and the 30th anniversary of the revival of this society, which are celebrated in 2022
In the work prepared by the author, essays are placed on more than twenty manors (Brasovo, Volynskoye, Znamenskoye near Tarusa, Orekhovo and Sushnevo Vladimir province, Preobrazhenskoye Goryachkino and Tesovo Mozhaisk Uyezd, etc) The history of many of them is not yet sufficiently studied, or little known to our contemporaries.
Much attention is paid to the process of creation, development and, at the beginning of the 20th century, the gradual decline of the Russian estate. A comprehensive assessment of the estate was given as a significant phenomenon of Russian history of outstanding architects, artists, figures of Russian science and culture, whose life was closely connected with the manor life and traditions. The author emphasizes the special role, which for the most part played by these estates, who sprinkled or hospitably accepted many famous representatives of literature and art
