The collection of scientific works is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Russian folklorist, literary critic, writer and poet A. A. Gorelov. The material is presented in five thematic sections. The first section includes memories of the scientist, articles relating to his creative and scientific activity. The second section is devoted to folklorization mechanisms in various forms and layers of folk culture, as well as the coexistence and interaction of oral and written traditions, the history of the famous Kant, and the nasal of epics. The third section contains articles on collective and creative activities of local historians, on manuscript collections and “naive” literature, the fourth section is dedicated to literary folklorism (folklore motifs in the work of F. M. Dostoevsky, M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin, F. Abramov, Leo Peruza), this includes an article on poetics. The last, fifth section contains articles considering folklore-ethnographic realities and motives, the value of the indicators of epics, etc.
