Kunikida Doppo was born in 1871 and died of consumption in 1908, having lived only 36 years. A short life was the destiny of many of his contemporaries and brothers in writing. Konikida Doppo did not live long, but violently: a poor hungry youth, work in the newspapers, from where he was fired for the inanimate nature and sharpness of judgments. He was married twice, baptized, visited the Japanese-Chinese war as a military correspondent, after which he became a convinced pacifist. He was constantly in the search and boldly changed his literary addictions, passing through the enthusiasm for romanticism to pure realism. KNIKIDA DOPPO managed to write a little, but all his works entered the annals of modern Japanese classics. The real collection included the best stories of the writer
