The action of the novel "Quiet Don" originates in the last pre -war days of the Cossack farm. Soon, peaceful life will remain in the past: it will be destroyed by the battle with the external, foreign, enemy - in the First World War, then with its own neighbors, relatives, yesterday’s friends - in civilian. The main character of the novel, Grigory Melekhov, prepared himself for peaceful family life and work, but fate tears him away from home and throws him into the whirlpool of tragic events. For many years he spends on the front line, trying to find the meaning and goal in everything that happens - but on whom he cannot find a place for himself. There are no right -wing in this split world. The meaning of life is preserved in relatives and friends, Her Gregory is kept in a piercing story of love, but fate takes away from him one after another.
The main epic of the 20th century is published with the illustrations of Yuri Rebrov. The book is accompanied by an article by Elena Tyurina and the dictionary.
