In the memoir literature, many contradictory evidence of Pushkin-seniority has been preserved. Some contemporaries recalled that the conversation with him cost his works, that he was the soul, the revitalizer of any conversation. Others argued that “Pushkin did not produce special ... effect, spoke a little, more about the things of the most ordinary” and that Pushkin “only one remarkable expression broke out for the whole evening”. In fact, in the circle of close and interesting people, Pushkin was an exceptionally entertaining interlocutor, while in a large society or among people of alien and indifferent people he was closed and silent. Book of famous Pushkinists B.L. Modzalevsky and S.Ya. Hesse resurrects Pushkin’s word, and through the hundred -year -old fog of the former comes to us, albeit weak, often distorted, the poet’s speech, “the sun of Russian poetry”, that Pushkin, with the last word of which all of Russia put on deep mourning
