Perhaps there is not a single book about the history of Decembrism, where Pushkin’s name would not arise, and there is not a single book about the life of Alexander Sergeyevich, in which the Decembrists would not be mentioned. A lot of studies were conducted on the theme of Pushkin and the Decembrists, one of these works belonging to the pen of the Soviet writer, literary critic and historian Nathan Yakovlevich Eidelman, we present to your attention. There are two types of historians. Some talk about history. Others speak with history. Eidelman spoke with history as well, openly and violently, as he talked with friends. It was one of the researchers-senities, thanks to which his work was incredible among readers. In the center of this book, the history of the relationship between the first poet of Russia - Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin - and the first revolutionaries - the Decembrists. With one of them - Pushchin and Kuchelbeker - the author of Eugene Onegin was connected by friendly bonds from lyceum youth, with others - Raevsky and Orlov - shared his exiled years, and for all he was a singer of freedom and "Mladyo Rebel". Nathan Eidelman talks about how two worlds constantly intersected - the world of secret societies and the world of Pushkin, how, out of attraction and repulsions, proximity and disagreements, great poetry and amazing fates were born.
In his work, Pushkin and Decembrists Tatan Eidelman showed this “great, complex, contradictory historical unity”, the “union of arguing, disagreements in agreement, consonants in disagreement”
