The trilogy of Mark Kharitonov (b. 1937) "Provincial Philosophy" is first published in Russian with one book. It includes the novels "Prokhor Menshutin" (1971, published in 1988), "Provincial Philosophy" (1977, published in 1993), "Fate lines, or Milashevich chest" (1980-1985, Russian Bucher Award, 1992) All three books are connected by common characters, a common scene, the provincial towns of Nechaisk and a column, a common continuing plot, "quiet, but powerful breathing of insatiable passion" (Andrei Nemzer) In full form, the trilogy was published only in French at the initiative of the outstanding Slavist Professor Georges Niva, who noted "inimitable color, which is felt in all works of a great writer." Separate parts of the trilogy were also published in English, Czech and Chinese. The design used Galina Edelman
