The novel "Private Practice" tells the story of two families whose senior representatives are simultaneously childhood friends and "ideological" opponents. Different in professions and views on life, on the approach to solving problems and their experience, they are together the heroes of the "family" saga, in which their characters are revealed through relationships and external events and the realities of the modern world are reflected. The personal life of the heroes becomes a mirror of social life, where passions, love and hatred are raging, and there is a place for both rational and mystical.
The heroes help overcome age and personal crises psychologists, which are addressed by different members of two families for help. This gives the narrative a different subtext, and the adventurous narrative of the "oddities of love" becomes the plot of the "production" professional psychological novel. Observing and analyzing the heroes and their characters, psychologists, also subject to passions, introduce additional content into the novel, more philosophical in nature, where thoughts about the inner world of a person are intertwined with thoughts about social types and "heroes" of our time.
As the author Elena Leontyeva writes: "The novel is written about the people who go to the psychologist, about the most ordinary normal people, not at all psychos, as some think, but exactly the opposite ... The psychologists were lucky. People tell them what they think and feel without censorship. Not immediately, but all the more interesting. Sometimes you need to look for "your" psychologist. But as soon as he was found, the matter is going on. Usually people want a miracle, expect him from psychologists and even demand it. Or vice versa, they have a secret goal to prove that it is impossible to help them.
Moreover, we all consider ourselves psychologists, because it is. Without psychology - nowhere. How else to understand what is happening at all? Nevertheless, professional psychologists differ from ordinary ones. For many years of very difficult training, they learn awareness. Analysis, observation, experiment - everything is used so that at the very exciting moment when the client sits opposite you in a soft chair, you would know what to do. How can one person in general help another? Is it true that they treat in words, and not just kill? And how not to harm? Yes, and not to bring up from feelings and events in the life of others - unfamiliar, strangers to you, people from another world, from different social layers, religions and philosophy. "
The book describes the stories of real people.
