Malmo, Sweden. At the bus stop, the cellist meets a homeless drug addict. It could be me. The musician is carried away by thoughts to his past: about music - old and new, about classics, jazz, rape, about poverty, loss of loved ones and heavy physical work, to just survive.
This will not be a story about how a poor boy became a famous cellist. This is a hymn to a small person, to those who do not succeed, no matter how hard they fought. From overgrown residential buildings to underground clubs and squat, “poverty” is a rapid journey through the inside of European cities.
“Polyphony of voices is closely woven into a narrative resembling a complex musical composition. The book breaks abruptly, as avant -garde music could end, but its vibrations continue to fill the air. ” - The guardian
