Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin is a poet, prose writer, translator, journalist, publisher, prominent representative of sentimentalism in Russian literature, the reformer of the Russian language and the largest historiographer. His work has become a school for the next generation of Russian writers. It was he who found new words and techniques for revealing the inner world of a person, the subtlest shades of thoughts and experiences, and in this regard he became the direct teacher of Pushkin.
