This album - the fifth in the series "places of Joseph Brodsky" - is an almost complete collection of photographs of the poet taken in different years in the interiors of part of the communal apartment - in the “one and a half rooms” - his father, photojournalist Alexander Ivanovich Brodsky, as well as in a half -room The poet, in detail photographed by M. I. Milchik on June 4, 1972 - on the day of the poet’s departure in forced emigration. The parents" room was photographed by him in May 1984, after the death of his father Joseph Brodsky. In addition, photographs of the poet’s wires are placed here (some of them are published for the first time), the celebration of his 40th anniversary in the same rooms, as well as the opening of a memorial plaque at the house of Muruzi. About the house itself and, in particular, the prince’s apartment is told by numerous photographs of different years, design drawings and an essay to L. Ya. Lurie and A.V. Kobak. All these materials, accompanied by quotes from the Brodsky Essay Assembly "One and a half rooms" in English and translated into Russian, give readers an idea of ​​what his famous essay is dedicated to, and help to find out some details of life in Leningrad the future Nobel Prize laureate. More than half of the photographs placed here have never been reproduced before
