“The poem should be a photograph,” Brodsky wrote in the mature years, giving characterization to his own work. Visual technique gives the verse a visibility, vigilance, which allows you to show how a thought arises and poetically format from a simple, randomly thrown gaze, becoming an event in the sense that phenomenology gives it. This direction, with its close attention to the event as a phenomenon, fact, determined the development of Brodsky’s poetry, not excluding other philosophical methods: metaphysics, existentialism, anthropology. Hence the innovation of the statement of his verse, fixing the frozen moment in a photographic way of light - shadows, lumen, time - calendar and remembered, space and its code archetypes in the form of a landscape, houses, animals, birds, fish, flowers capturing fate, death as time of the end: the end of the end: era and own life, refrain, voice - her own, her, others
