Viktor Remizov’s books were seen by readers and literary critics, included in short lists of the main Russian literary awards -? The novel is based on real events. One and a half thousand kilometers of the railway laid out prisoners from the north of the Urals in the lower reaches of the Yenisei in the taiga and swamps. The “Great Stalinist Highway” turned out to be unnecessary as soon as her ideological inspirer died, but in four years, huge resources were thrown for its construction, the most valuable of which were human life and fate. The novel is built as the story of several families. He is about the love, relics and beauty of man, about the formation of personality at a turning point in history, about the confrontation and coexistence of man and nature. A leisurely, attentive narrative fascinates and does not let the reader go to the last phrase and for a long time after.
