The novel "Oblomov" is the peak of the work of I. A. Goncharov. Published in 1859, this novel caused an ambiguous reaction of critics. Goncharov not only showed an amazing and paradoxical type of Russian person, but also made his name a household name, determining such a way of life as “Oblomovism”. Some saw in Oblomov a symbol of the inertness of Russia and the sign of time. According to N. A. Dobrolyubov, laziness and apathy Oblomov are the only spring of action in his entire story. Other critics justified the protagonist of the novel. So, A.V. Druzhinin wrote: “He is dear to us as an independent and pure nature, which is quite independent of that scholastic-modal tohole, that the vast majority of people are staining with themselves ...” Some interpreted the novel as a satirical work, others noted in it and The lyrical beginning, and subtle psychologism. This original and one -as -aus book still causes disputes without losing its significance
