The book is based on the genuine life story and struggle of Grandfather Louise Erdric.
1953. Thomas, the prototype of which was the author’s grandfather, works as a night watchman at the plant for the production of bearings from precious stones - the first factory located near the reservation of the Mountain Turtle in Northern Dakota. As a member of the Council of the Chippe Indians, he is trying to prevent the consequences of a new bill on emancipation, which can soon adopt the Congress of the United States.
