The book reflects the life and work of its author after graduating in June 1960 of the Moscow Automechanical Institute. The labor path of Dina Zolotarevskaya began with work as an engineer at the first state bearing plant (1st GPZ).
The first part of the book tells how the author worked at the 1st GPZ at first as an engineer-technologist, and then an engineer-designer. In 1962, she entered graduate school.
The author talks about how engineers, workers, and other employees of the plant lived and worked in these years, what they did in their free time. The factory newspaper “For an excellent bearing” was published, which printed essays on workers and engineers of the plant, reviews of members of the circle of cinema reviewers about new films and theatrical performances and other events at the factory, in our country and in other countries.
In the second, third and fourth parts of the book, stories, reviews of films, essays on employees of the 1st GPZ are published. The fate of many people of our country will pass before the eyes of readers in a peaceful pre -war time, during the years of Stalinist repressions, during the Great Patriotic War, during the years of Khrushchev’s “thaw” and after it.
The book is intended for a wide range of readers. It may interest the older people who lived in the sixties of the twentieth century. The book may also be interesting to younger people who learn from it about the recent past unknown to them
