In languor in the summer of 1977, a naive young young lady named Kalista rushes out of Athens to a big world. She goes to the island, turned into a set in order to work on the famous Hollywood director Billy Wilder, whose films she never saw. The world of Kinodiv, ironic men, champagne and strange relationships. Calista rejoices at the adventure that had fallen to her, while Mr. Wilder himself is sad - the great director realizes that his time in the movie is completing. In Hollywood, the classic is already shy, and he shoots his new film with German money. Calista becomes for the great director a guide to the dark labyrinth of his personal history, the roots of which go to German land.
With the great Billy Wilder, COU has a special relationship. So, his novel "House of sleep" directly refers to Wilder’s last film "Private Life of Sherlock Holmes": the book develops in the Gothic Eshdown mansion, but it is also the pseudonym Holmes, pretending to be married in Wilder’s film, and one of the heroes of the “House of Sleep”, Sinefil Terry, releases sarcastic comments on Wilder"s films.
The new romance of COU is both the finest story of growing up, and a very intimate portrait of one of the most mysterious and significant people in the history of the cinema, and, of course, immersion in the illusory world on the verge of reality and celluloid fantasy, between sleep and reality
