Guillaume Apolliner (1880-1918) is one of the most significant names in the history of European literature. Apollinera had fate to complete the classic period of French poetry and open the horizons of "new lyrical consciousness". His poetic "bestiaria" (1911), the books "Alcohols" (1913) and "Calligrams" (1918) largely determined the ways of further development and existence of poetry. However, the lyrics are only the top of the iceberg. A brilliant prose writer, art theorist, historian of literature, critic, journalist, playwright - each area of Apolliner"s work became the property of the crude culture. The real edition includes the poet’s chosen lyrics, presented by the lifetime collections and magazine publications, as well as his famous play "Breast of Tiresia" (1917), in the preface to which the word “Surrealism” picked up by the closest followers of the poet first appeared. In addition, samples of his literary criticism, notes and memories of modern poets are given - what Apolliner made the preacher of everything new in art and literature
