The most famous novel by Klaus Mann (1906-1949) is the tragic story of the moral fall of actor Hendrick Hyoffhen, a talented, but limp person. In an effort for the glory and wealth of Hoffgen, he is cooperation with Nazism, and his career seemed to be ensured, but, having completely lost spiritual freedom in the networks of the rulers of the Third Reich, he begins to understand that he made an irreparable mistake - he sold his soul to the devil.
The novel was filmed in 1981 by director Istwan Sabo, the film was a huge success.
The physical proximity of power confused and scared him. The incredible glory of a person who was sitting opposite was frightened by the ambitious. And under a slight sloping forehead, the authorities, on which the legendary sebaceous strand fell, was dead, motionless, like a blind gaze. The face in power was gray-white, swollen, loose and porous. There was a very vulgar nose in power - a “vile nose”, Hendrick dared to think. A feeling of protest, even contempt, was mixed with delight. The artist noticed that the authorities did not have a nape at all. Under the brown shirt, a soft belly appeared. She spoke the power quietly, cherished her hoarse, hoarse voice. She used difficult words, showed the artist "education".
