The protagonist of the novel “Meloman” is a former submarine officer writing articles for rock magazine in his free time from commercial activity. The lines of his life are characterized by steep turns: trusting feelings, he is able to follow the surprises presented by fate, often acting in extreme situations. The book fragmentary, sometimes sketchily, but reliably and fascinatingly displays the history of Russian rock in three decades. The second-plan heroes creating the atmosphere of the described decades are many well-known rock musicians: Yuri Shevchuk, Sergey Chigrakov, Lech Nikonov, there are others
