In the new book of the "brutal" writer Eric Schmith, stories are collected under one cover that can be attributed to the category of strong male prose. The ethnic German, which grew up in Soviet Kazakhstan in the post -war period, drew the plots of his "strong in corners", balancing on the verge of social norms of stories from the reality surrounding him - difficult, and at times even seemingly hopeless. The stories of the collection of the Marianian Lawks are a single narrative cycle, united by a common gloomy background, anxious leitmotif, mercilessly beating energy, and sometimes also heroes. The characters of Erica Schmitka are "real men", the creators of their and other people"s destinies, warriors or even criminals, women who confused their internal conflicts, but only seeming weak, desperate, obviously doomed and therefore thrown into the end, up to their own life, up to their own life.
