A grandiose, large -scale novel based on the history of a really existing and influential family in Sicily.
In 1799, after an earthquake at Calabria, Florio moved to Palermo. Two brothers, Paolo and Injacio, begin to build their empire in the far from the most hospitable city. Life difficulties and changes in the world inspire entrepreneurial brothers to look for new moves and invent technologies. And after a while, Florio became those who control everything that Sicily is so rich in: spices, fabrics, wine, tuna and steamboats.
