Landscape

A small novel "Landscape", published in 1987, was a turning point in the fate of the Chinese writer Fan. In the center of the story is the family of a simple worker living in poverty, and the “storyteller” is one of the children of this family, who died in infancy and buried under the window of his home. The bright and living image of the life of the city slums, a deep philosophical subtext and the original narrative brought the novel a prize, and the fan of the fan became a symbol of Chinese neorealism. The works that followed the "landscape" secured the status of the writer of the first magnitude for the fan of the fan and made it a laureate of a number of prestigious awards, including the largest literary award of the PRC - the Lu Sinya Awards
