Remi de Gourmon (1858-1915) - French writer, essayist, art critic, who in everything corresponded to the excellent era. M. Voloshin, after a meeting with him, described his work as follows: "And in his books the same perspicacious touch of his fingers is felt when he carefully, like a transparent butterfly, takes the idea by his wings and peers into it by a subject eye.
"Book of masks" is an exquisite kaleidoscope of European literature of the late XIX - early twentieth century. Living, sometimes poisonous, sometimes like odes, essays-portraits of fifty-three writers and poets, including M. Meterlink, E. Verkharn, P. Verlaine, A. Rimba, serve as an excellent introduction to franco-speaking literature.
