Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860-1904) - Russian writer and playwright, known throughout the world. The future writer was born in Taganrog in a merchant family and, from an early age, helped his father in his shop. In 1884 A.P. Chekhov graduated from the medical faculty of Moscow University and engaged in medical practice. He began to write back in his student years - in 1880, his story and humores were printed in the magazine Dragonfly. In 1890, A.P. Chekhov went to Sakhalin - the island of Tsar’s hard labor and links to study the history and life of convicts. In 1896, the writer was finishing work on the play “Uncle Vanya”, who made a coup in the dramaturgy of that time. In total, for 25 years of work A.P. Chekhov created more than 300 different works, many of which have become a classic of world literature.
The basis for the plot of the story Kashtanka (1887) was the story that happened with the trainer Vladimir Durov. He found a chestnut and told A.P. Chekhov. The author seems to look at the world with her eyes, feels her fears, joys, sees her dreams. According to the writer, there are no borders - Kashtanka, speaking in the circus, rushes to the former owner, whom she lost at the beginning of the story. And even if he sometimes fed her poorly, shouted, but Kashtanka still loved him and missed him.
