The novel is a monologue of the main character in Dr. Zeligman"s office. The heroine lives in London, but was born and grew up in Germany, countries, for more than seventy years of obsolete the consequences of a monstrous trauma inflicted during the Second World War. Trying to cope with the post -traumatic syndrome of the 20th century, the heroine of Folkmer is most openly shared with Dr. Zeligman and with her readers of such things that are not customary to talk about in society, especially in the European one: from fear of vibrators, thoughts about Hitler during orgasm and complex Relations with the mother before thinking about sauerkraut and the confidence that you can overcome the consequences of the Holocaust only by falling in love with the Jew
