The Neapolitan poet Dzhambatist Bazile (1566-1632) is the creator of the first fabulous folklore collection in the history of European literature. Long before the Grimm brothers, he gathered a large collection of fairy tales and called it “Pentameron” (or “The Tale of Tales”), and it was from this collection that the plots now known throughout the world: “Cinderella”, “Cat in boots”, “Sleeping Beauty and others.
