The book of the famous writer Irina Polyanskaya (1952-2004) included the novel “The Horizon of Events”. The event horizon is a barrier in the black hole of the cosmos, where the space is replaced by time, over which we are not powerful. But this is the life of the heroes of the novel, in the variety of fate of which our reality is reflected. With an active and creative look, the boundaries of the comprehended world are expanding due to the energy of our thoughts and feelings, the author claims in his tragic and paradoxical narrative. Playing at times and fate, the writer shows how everything is connected in this world, causal relationships, in the web of which the heroes of the novel beat, involuntarily lead the reader to the thought of the life of their own and personal fate of each time permeated with currents.
A recognized novelist and storyteller, Irina Polyanskaya received an acting and literary education, worked as an accompanist, actress, a nurse in traumatology, a correspondent in the newspaper, editor in magazines. In the late 80s, she was part of the group of young writers “New Amazons”, which was criticized by the ideological and aesthetic course of “new female prose” in modern Russian literature.
