Louise May Olcott (1832 - 1888) grew up in the Literary Family, surrounded by famous poets, writers and philosophers. And her first romance, published in 1868 and is largely autobiographical, - “little women” - not only became a sensation of his time, but immortalized the name of the writer forever. Subsequently, Olcott again and again turned to the further fate of the heroines of this novel, creating the first in American literature “Family Saga” - the tetralogy “Little Women”, “Good Wives”, “Little Men” and “Guys of Joe”.
“good wives” - the continuation of the family saga, telling about the fate of four sisters of the march. Small girls grew up and quietly turned into elegant ladies. Each sister goes along his life path: Meg is going to marry John Brook, Joe plans to become a famous writer, Amy dreams of traveling around Europe and write paintings, and Bess wants to stay at home and live a calm life. The sisters are faced with tests of adulthood, but, despite different paths, they cope with difficulties together, and each of the girls finds their own happiness
