For many years, one of the greatest books of the twentieth century - “kill the mockingbird” - was considered the only work of Harper Lee, and only recently the unexpected details of the appearance of this novel were opened.
In fact, the first book of the writer was the novel “Go Put the Watchman”, whose action unfolds Twenty years after the events described in “Kill the Mockingbird”. The editor of the publisher, to whom Harper Lee addressed, invited her to write another book, unfolding the memories of the main character about childhood in a full -fledged novel. And it was this book, entitled “Kill the Mockingbird”, readers of the whole world recognized and loved. And the manuscript “go to the watchman” seemed to be lost forever.
But, as you know, manuscripts do not burn. And now, already in the new millennium, the book finally saw the light!
... The difficult thirties remained in the past. They were replaced by the “golden” fifties. Children grew up, adults old. The matured Jin Louise returns to his hometown to visit a sick father. But what awaits her there? How did those with whom her childhood has changed?
