The book of Oksana Vladimirovna Timasheva, teacher, translator, writer, and cult is a collection of her works, lectures and articles (history of foreign literature, poetics, semiotics) The real "course of literature" “from Rabelais to Welbek”, if I can identify the material of the book, is an unconventional personal approach to the French and some other literature in a wide genre range from the literary essay (ordinary lecture) to an in -depth scientific semiotic study. The unusual aspect of the French authors well familiar in Russia (Rabelais, Ronsar, Balzak, Stendhal, Baudelaire) and the traditional less familiar (Rostan, Celine, Pegs, Alain), etc. The book performed in the line of modern poetic research can be useful to future bachelories and master, but first of all it is intended for a wide circle of readers who are interested in foreign literature
