The collection of works of the modern Israeli writer Leo Altmark consists of five stories and a small radio show. It would seem that it can be in common between a semi -documentary narrative from the life of the Russian hinterland of one and a half century ago, three detective stories from modern Israeli reality, the harsh realities of the anti -terrorist operation in Lebanon and a big story about the poor everyday life of new repriances in the promised country? With the external dissimilarity of the plots, all the works are united by a common hero - a small person who is looking for his place in life, by truth and by crook trying to climb a step higher, with his complexes and shortcomings, but honest and sincere in his aspirations. In complex and confusing, and sometimes extreme situations, do others happen? - Our hero seeks to act according to conscience, but do his actions lead to the desired goal? ..
