Smelnitsky Yuri (Julius) Mikhailovich (1851-1931) Professor-lawyer, talented writer, first head of the Kazan Society of Hunters, created in 1868. An experienced and knowledgeable hunter, a man in love with nature, he headed the society of hunters as many as 17 years. In Sabaneyevskaya nature and hunting his articles were regularly published. The first artistic essay “Hunting for Duck Sidki” was published in 1894.
