The novel Drinking Wind combines elements of different genres. It is at the same time a family drama, and western, and noir. As if in an avant -garde film, characters flashed before us: a despising father and a fanatically religious mother, the head of the city, the tyrant and paranoid Joyce, his minions - the dwarf Snake and the giant Dubl, as well as whales, veterans of the First World War, pirates, poachers and girls altogether not exemplary behavior. But first of all, this is a parable about all -conquering love, connecting three brothers and sister: a rebellious and sensual magician, obsessed with literature, Marka, who understands the language of trees and animals Mathieu and the younger hatch, who imagines himself Jim Hokins from the “Treasure Island” of Stevenson
