Dr. Garin

Ten years ago, the snowstorm prevented Dr. Garin to get to the village of Vollyu and instill his inhabitants from the Bolivian virus, which turns people into zombies. The doctor miraculously did not freeze to death in an endless snow steppe in order to return to the post -apocalyptic world, where his patients will become the most funny and helpless creatures on Earth, in the past - the leaders of the world powers. This world, where a clock of stone and iPhones made of wood is cut out - an encyclopedia of Sorokinsky anti -utopia, confidently endowing the future with the features of the dense past. Despite the usual irony and parody references to the Russian prosaic canon, “Dr. Garin” distinguishes a significantly new level of anxiety: the swamp cherry gulag, the by -product of the Soviet experiment, is more terrible than the atomic bomb. Another radical update is piercing lyricism. On the wreckage of the destroyed universe, an old -fashioned doctor will meet, lose and find his only love again to treat it until the end of his days
