The name of Anatoly Naumovich Rybakov (1911–1998), a classic of Russian literature, the author of epoch -making novels “Children of Arbat” and “heavy sand”, is known throughout the world, his works are translated into dozens of languages. However, wide fame came to Rybakov long before the publication of his main novels. And adventure books have gained the greatest popularity, which, along with the works of Kassil and Gaidar, compiled a gold fund of Soviet literature for youth, and were also many times filming with the participation of the author as a scriptwriter. Among them, a trilogy is distinguished about Misha Polyakov: “Dagger” (1948), “Bronze Bird” (1956) and “Shot” (1975) The heroes of these stories belong to the generation of the brave, honest, straightforward “children of the revolution”, and on the steep turns of the plot lies the reflection of the civil war, the NEP and the irreconcilable class struggle. Thanks to the figure of the protagonist, the novel “Drivers” (1950) formally adjoins the trilogy, thanks to the novel, which was written immediately after the “Dagger” and awarded the highest state prize in the field of literature. In this publication, Rybakov’s works are published with excellent illustrations of Igor Ilyinsky and Ekaterina Chudnovskaya
