This is a completely realistic book, the history of the everyday life of the neurosurgical department of the oncological center is interspersed in it with "living" conversations in the operating room, which the author - neurophysiologist, specialist in intraoperative monitoring - hears for almost twenty years. Real heroes - neurosurgeons, resuscitators, medical sisters , the situations are real, the methods are real (a work of art about intraoperative monitoring has not yet been in Russian literature) Unfortunately, diseases are more than real - mainly tumors of the brain. The only feature with a powerful ninth rampart takes this book on a shelf with science fiction: one of the characters is death. Not a phenomenon, but a creature. But by the way. And this character does not make the book implausible, because what can be more real than death in life? It seems that with such a character and in such an entourage, the story should be heavy, even tragic. But the narrative turned out to be light and rather funny than sad
