Roman Alexander Prokhanov “Day” - about Grozny 1993. The patriotic newspaper Day is a mirror of those dramatic events. This mirror was reflected in Anpilov and Makashov, Rutskoy and Khasbulatov, cruel contractions in Moscow squares and streets, battles in Transnistria, secret background intrigues of the authorities, politics, love, war. In this mirror - a huge conflagration in the center of Moscow, when Yeltsin’s tanks shot the House of Soviets at point -blank, and machine guns mowed with fire of unarmed barricades. Roman is a requiem on the rebels and killed. The novel is a spotlight throwing a beam into the future, where a new Russian state arises from the blood and tears, great works and dreams
