For several months, the north of Sweden was flooded with endless rain. A huge dam saved from the flood, built with the calculation of the worst. But no one assumed that the "worst" would turn out to be a childish babble in comparison with what happened. And once the Luleo river undermined the concrete obstacle that seemed insurmountable and rushed, sweeping away everything in its path, destroying the houses, laying out the cars, grabbing a all kinds of human belongings ... and the people themselves. The gray wall of the water rushes for the heroes of the novel: Saam, who has long exchanged traditional life for the city, a helicopter pilot, pondering suicide, a young woman who had just learned that she was waiting for a child, a working power plant, who would finally show him to all these women, What is the real man, a lonely artist-amateur, for whom the river has always been a joy ... The mosaic of the tragic (and sometimes slightly comic) stories is formed into a large drama, which will forever change not only the landscape, but also the fate of each of the heroes.
Dam is written in the rare romance genre for Swedish literature. The action takes place during a single fateful day, and at such a pace and with such stress that the reader caught his breath.
