Cultural layer: story

In a bright metaphorical form, the author tells of modern reality and passions boiling in it. People who inhabit this too close world live in a suffocating stench, but with all thoughts they strive for a promised aromatic era. They make business, do -it -yourself politics, fight with each other, equip scientific expeditions and engage in art, but do not suspect that everything around is saturated with rat poison. A secret society directs their history, but even among its adherents, few guess that this world belongs not to people, but to the gray masters with an inhuman mind. The owners decide which of them to throw wealth under their feet, and whom to leave to vegetate on cold land and miserable handouts. And only to those who live in the fortress under the sign of the Cross, protected from a suffocating dope, the true price of other people"s gifts is knowledge.
