The debut prosaic book of Marseille Proust "Consors and Days" (1896) is a literary experiment of a “beautiful era", a manifesto of aesthetic detachment, published in an atmosphere of endless writer disputes and conflicts. Short novels of the book are the workshops of sketches and at the same time reflections on the nature of art and the commensuration of art with life. The early book of Proust helps to understand the mechanics of his great novel and at the same time more than once makes you survive delight before the incomprehensibility of the world.
