Before the reader is a short but bright story of aesthetically oriented camel, spitting around himself the enchanting atmosphere of dendism and style, but in the end in extremely unpleasant circumstances. The illustrations of Alexei Troshin, the author of Diptikha, give this story a visibility and bulge, and, perhaps, will allow you to find out the persons familiar to the reader in the actors. The animals traditionally act as the heroes of the fables, even as unexpected as this brilliant story of Gustav Mayric, first published in Russian in 1923. All the more interesting and instructive, timely (more precisely, timeless) will read this story in 2023
