The novel of the Austrian writer Robert Menasse "Capital" talks about preparing for the celebration of the anniversary of the European Union. The organizers want to hold celebrations on this occasion in Auschwitz, where some characters offer to transfer the political capital of Europe. Events unfold against the background of the bureaucratic curtains of the apparatus of a member of the European Commission, which is in charge of cultural affairs and baking exclusively about its own career. In addition to representatives of high society in the novel, there is a murderer who killed someone, so the investigation is at a dead end. In 2017, Roman "Capital" was awarded the German Book Prize
