Nathan Glass moves to Brooklyn to die. Days flow measuredly, until the circumstances encounter him with Tom, a nephew working in the Bukinistic shop. "Book of human stupidity", on which Nathan is working, is replenished with a heap at first scattered sketches. As he meets new people, fragments of stories about endless stupidity merge into a single whole and turn into a story about the significance and insignificance of human life, which unfolds against the background of colorful American realities of the zero years.
"Brooklyn nonsense" is a leisurely and sincere story from one of the most significant American writers
