During the Great Depression in Kentukki, an equestrian library service was organized. The main objectives of the project were to create new jobs and increase the literacy of the population. Horsemen, delivering books to the most inaccessible corners of this wild region, were called book ladies.
Mary Cussi Carter is one of these book ladies. In any weather, she fearlessly overcomes Mile for Miley, trying to pass the books to her readers. But Mary’s path is much more complicated than her "colleagues", he runs not only through impenetrable forests, but also through the wilds of human prejudices ...
