Maurice Meterlink is an amazing, advanced Belgian playwright. Most know him from childhood on the famous "Blue Bird", but many other mysterious, symbolic plays also deserve attention. All the creators of the Silver Age adored Meterlink for his gloomy plots, in which the heroes were chained in the Schopenhauer unknowableness of the world. Meterlinka advised Chekhov to the production in Russia, and Stanislavsky noted: "There is no interesting new items ahead, except for Meterlink." The collection includes the translations of N. Minsky and L. Vilkina of such plays as "Agveven and Selizette", "Blind", "Miracle of St. Anthony" and others
