The collection includes two novels of the famous English writer and thinker Gilbert Kight Chesterton “Shar and Cross” and “Migratory tavern”. The name ball and cross is a reference to the worldly and more rational worldview in the image of a ball and Christianity in the image of a cross. The novel tells about the adventures of two inhabitants of Britain-the Scottish Catholic and the Scottish convinced atheist-who called each other to a duel because of their views and suffered all kinds of persecution by the authorities. The novel “Migratory Tywal” is a grotesque story about an anti -alcohol campaign in England, and, more precisely, about the fight against anti -alcohol campaign. The taverns are taxed by overwhelming tax daily, so there was an idea to start a tavern that does not linger on the spot for more than a day
