Margita Findali (1909–1995) - the famous Slovak writer and poet, whose novel Babylon was translated into dozens of languages ​​of the world. The novel about the fall of the Babylonian kingdom was written in 1943 (published in 1946), during the Second World War and was read while the parable of the cowardice of European elites, which did not dare to resist the imminent German invasion. But first of all, it is a living and fascinating historical narrative, in which the proud and great city appears before the reader, the center of one of the most ancient and mysterious civilizations of the past. A beautiful city still retains its greatness, but its inhabitants are already foreseen the impending danger from the Persian king Kir. The romantic line in the novel is dedicated to the love of the peasant girl Nanai and Nabusardar - the aristocrat, the supreme military leader of the Babylonian army, which leads the defense of the city. The plot lines tightly connected to one knot promise the reader a masterfully built narrative that will not leave indifferent even the sophisticated experts in ancient history
