The commented edition of the story "at the dawn hour", the second part of the trilogy "The road goes to the distance ...". The author, Alexandra Yakovlevna Brushtein, began to write this story in 1958. She was already seventy -five years old, more than half a century has passed since the events described.
Its city, the city of the story (Vilna, now Vilnius) survived two world wars and the Holocaust over the years, and the world of the story has sunk into the past, died in the fire of catastrophes of the 20th century. But the writer succeeded - with love and encyclopedic accuracy - to recreate the city and the world of his adolescence. All events described in the book are reliable, each character - regardless of its place and weight in the book - has a real prototype, whose name and surname in most cases bears.
