Announced

Andrei Bitov’s innovative novel (b. 1937) consists of four parts written by the author in the second half of his life at different times. His heroes are "announced", i.e. Drawers and internships of the Christian faith. They think, doubt and argue about the most burning issues of our time. What is a person? What is his place in living and inanimate nature? What is the cause of evolution and does it have a goal? Did the universe have a plan and a program, or is it an illusion, and everything is different in our man -made and devouring civilization? And critics and readers are no less ardently arguing about the genre nature of an unusual work: "announced"-novel-wretron or romance romance? Ecological novel or postmodern - and, in general, not a novel, but an anti -Roman?
